Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Refined Motorsport (REMO) collects when you use refinedmotorsport.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated 22 October 2026
Who we are
Refined Motorsport (“REMO”, “we”, “us”) runs sim racing leagues, a public driver directory, news and league hosting services. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact us at security@refinedmotorsport.com.
What we collect
You can browse most of the site without an account
If you only read public pages such as leagues, news, results and the driver directory, we do not ask for or store any personal data about you.
Account data
When you create an account with email and password, or sign in with Discord or Twitch, we receive your email address, your username or display name, and your profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your Discord or Twitch password.
Driver profile data
If you create a driver profile, we store the information you choose to provide, such as your driver name, profile URL, nationality, bio, avatar and social media links, and your iRacing customer ID. Your driver profile, name, avatar, nationality, bio, social links and race statistics are public. Your iRacing customer ID is used to match race results to you and is not displayed on public pages.
League and racing data
We store your league registrations, car and class choices, race results, lap and incident data, penalties, points and the performance rating calculated from them. Published results and standings are public.
Content you create
This includes comments and likes on news articles and notifications sent to you. Comments you post are visible to other users.
Usage and technical data
Our hosting provider processes standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. We measure page performance using anonymous metrics that do not use cookies or track you across sites. While you are signed in, the site records that you are online, which is visible to site administrators only and is not retained after you leave.
Why we use your data
- To provide your account, driver profile and league entries (performing our contract with you).
- To publish results, standings, driver statistics and news, which is the core purpose of the site (our legitimate interests, and your consent when you create a public profile).
- To send notifications about your registrations, races and activity on the site.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers that help us run the site, and only as needed to do so. They process it on our instructions. These are:
- Hosting, database and storage providers.
- Authentication and performance-measurement providers.
- The sign-in provider you choose, such as Discord or Twitch, if you sign in with one.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK and the EEA. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Information you choose to make public on your profile can be seen by anyone. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and driver profile until you ask us to delete them. Race results are part of the historical record of a league, so results may be kept in anonymised form after your account is deleted. Other data is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can edit most of your profile yourself from your account page. For anything else, email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections, access controls in our database and restricted administrator access. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If you find a security issue, please report it to security@refinedmotorsport.com.
Children
REMO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and we will highlight any significant changes on the site.
